Peter McKinnon Wannabe

Not gonna lie—this is where I went full fanboy. Inspired by Peter McKinnon’s edits, tones, and storytelling, I took a deep dive into emulation mode. These photos are part homage, part experiment, and 100% me trying to level up.

Project Notes

Emulating someone else’s style isn’t about copying—it’s about learning how they see, shoot, and tell stories. Studying Peter McKinnon’s work helped me slow down, pay attention to detail, and understand how much intention goes into a single frame. I don’t want to be Peter. I just want to learn from the best while finding my own voice behind the camera.

What started as imitation turned into education. Through this process, I learned how to break down a shot, think like a storyteller, and push myself beyond what felt comfortable or obvious.I learned that good photography isn’t about gear or presets—it’s about intention, patience, and finding your own perspective. And while I still admire Peter’s work, I’m no longer trying to shoot like him. I’m working on shooting like me.
